South Staffordshire Local Medical Committee
Welcome to the website of South Staffordshire Local Medical Committee (LMC).
Local Medical Committees were established by statute to represent the views of
general practitioners by the 1911 National Insurance Act. It is an independent
self-financing body which allows it to exercise medico-political and statutory
South Staffordshire Local Medical Committe covers 91 GP Practices, 410 GPs and a
population of 610,644 patients.
South Staffordshire covers Stone, Stafford, Seisdon, Rugeley, Cannock, Burton,
Tutbury, Uttoxeter, Lichfield, Burntwood and Tamworth and the Committee is made
up of GPs from each of these areas.
